In Alabama, a nurse practitioner (NP) must have a collaborative agreement (CA) with a licensed Alabama physician. A physician may have collaborative agreements with several nurse practitioners (and conversely, an NP my have CAs with several physicians). In total, approximately 30500 physicians have a total of approximately 7800 collaborative agreements.
